PAYMENT POLICY – SCOTT AND DAUGHTERS

Last updated: 17 September 2026

At Scott and Daughters, we aim to make the checkout process simple, transparent and secure.

This Payment Policy explains the payment methods, currencies, payment processing and refund procedures that may apply when you place an order through www.scottanddaughters.com.

Nothing in this Payment Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

1. ACCEPTED PAYMENT METHODS

We accept the payment methods displayed as available during checkout.

Depending on your location, device and checkout configuration, these may include:

  • Visa;

  • Mastercard;

  • American Express;

  • other supported credit or debit cards;

  • Apple Pay;

  • Google Pay;

  • Shop Pay; and

  • other secure payment methods displayed at checkout.

Available payment methods may change from time to time.

A payment method is only available where it is displayed as an option during checkout.

2. CURRENCY

For customers shopping through our Australian storefront, prices are generally displayed in Australian dollars (AUD) unless another currency is clearly shown.

The currency that applies to your transaction will be displayed during checkout before you complete your purchase.

You should review:

  • the order subtotal;

  • any applicable discounts;

  • shipping charges, if any;

  • applicable taxes or charges; and

  • the final amount payable

before submitting your order.

We will display prices and unavoidable charges in accordance with applicable Australian pricing laws.

3. CURRENCY CONVERSION AND BANK FEES

Scott and Daughters does not control currency conversion rates or fees charged independently by banks, card issuers or payment providers.

Depending on your payment provider and account, you may be charged:

  • foreign currency conversion fees;

  • international transaction fees;

  • bank fees; or

  • other fees imposed independently by your financial institution.

These charges, where imposed independently by your bank or payment provider rather than by Scott and Daughters, do not form part of the amount we receive for your order.

We recommend contacting your bank or payment provider if you have questions about charges imposed by them.

Nothing in this section allows Scott and Daughters to exclude from the displayed purchase price any fee or charge that we are legally required to include or disclose.

4. SECURE CHECKOUT

Payments are processed through established third-party payment providers and ecommerce infrastructure.

Our online store is hosted through Shopify, and payment transactions may be processed by Shopify Payments or other payment providers made available through checkout.

Scott and Daughters does not ordinarily store complete credit or debit card numbers where those details are processed directly by our payment provider.

Payment information is handled in accordance with the security practices and requirements applicable to the relevant payment provider.

Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information about how payment-related personal information is handled.

5. PAYMENT AUTHORISATION

By submitting an order, you confirm that:

  • the payment information you have provided is accurate;

  • you are authorised to use the selected payment method; and

  • you authorise the applicable payment provider to process the transaction.

Your payment provider may perform its own security or verification checks before approving the transaction.

If payment cannot be authorised, the order may not be completed or processed.

6. PAYMENT TIMING

Depending on the payment method used, your payment may be:

  • authorised immediately;

  • captured when the order is placed; or

  • processed according to the procedures of the relevant payment provider.

A pending transaction may temporarily appear on your bank or card statement even where a transaction is subsequently declined or cancelled.

Pending authorisations are controlled by the relevant financial institution or payment provider, and the time required for them to disappear may vary.

7. ORDER CONFIRMATION

After successfully submitting an order, you will normally receive an order confirmation by email.

Please review the confirmation carefully and contact us promptly if you notice an error in:

  • your name;

  • shipping address;

  • products ordered;

  • size or colour;

  • quantity; or

  • other order details.

An order confirmation confirms that we have received your order.

Orders may still be subject to reasonable checks relating to:

  • successful payment;

  • product availability;

  • suspected fraud;

  • incorrect information; or

  • an obvious pricing or listing error.

Any refusal or cancellation of an order will be handled in accordance with our Terms and Conditions and applicable law.

8. DECLINED OR FAILED PAYMENTS

A payment may be declined or fail for reasons including:

  • insufficient funds;

  • incorrect payment information;

  • an expired card;

  • security restrictions;

  • card issuer restrictions;

  • fraud-prevention checks; or

  • technical issues with a payment provider.

If a payment fails, please check the payment information you entered.

If the information is correct and the problem continues, you may need to contact your bank, card issuer or payment provider.

You can also contact us at:

info@scottanddaughters.com

For security reasons, we may not have access to the specific reason your bank or card issuer declined a transaction.

9. PAYMENT VERIFICATION AND FRAUD PREVENTION

To protect our customers and our business, some orders may be subject to additional payment or fraud-prevention checks.

Where reasonably necessary, we may:

  • verify order information;

  • verify billing or shipping details;

  • review unusual transaction activity;

  • request reasonable additional information; or

  • delay processing while a transaction is being verified.

We will never ask you to send your complete credit card number, PIN or online banking password by email.

Where we reasonably determine that a transaction is fraudulent or unauthorised, we may refuse or cancel the order in accordance with our Terms and applicable law.

If a paid order is cancelled by us, any amount due to be refunded will be returned in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

10. PAYMENT SURCHARGES AND ADDITIONAL FEES

Any fees charged directly by Scott and Daughters in connection with a payment method will be disclosed before you complete your purchase and will comply with applicable law and payment network requirements.

Where applicable law requires a mandatory or unavoidable fee to be included in the displayed total price, we will include it as required.

Scott and Daughters does not control fees that may be independently imposed by your bank, card issuer or other financial institution.

11. DISCOUNTS AND PROMOTIONAL CODES

Where applicable, a valid discount or promotional code must generally be entered during checkout before the order is completed.

Promotional offers may be subject to:

  • an expiry date;

  • product exclusions;

  • minimum purchase requirements;

  • usage limits; or

  • other conditions disclosed with the promotion.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotional codes cannot be exchanged for cash.

Only one promotional code may be used per order unless we state otherwise.

We are not required to apply a promotional code retrospectively after an order has been completed, except where required by law or where we expressly agree to do so.

12. REFUNDS

Where a refund is approved, we will normally issue it to the original payment method used for the purchase.

Refunds may arise from:

  • an approved return;

  • an order cancellation;

  • a product problem;

  • an unavailable product; or

  • another agreed or legally required remedy.

Please refer to our Returns & Refunds Policy for the conditions applicable to returns and refunds.

After we issue a refund, your bank, card provider or payment provider may require additional processing time before the funds appear in your account.

These processing times vary between providers and are outside our direct control.

Where Australian Consumer Law gives you a right to a refund, that refund will be provided within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.

13. PARTIAL REFUNDS

In some circumstances, we may offer and you may agree to a partial refund as an alternative resolution.

For example, we may offer a partial refund where you prefer to keep an item rather than return it.

Where accepted, the agreed amount will normally be refunded to the original payment method.

A voluntary partial-refund offer does not remove or replace any remedy to which you are entitled under Australian Consumer Law.

14. STORE CREDIT

In some circumstances, we may offer store credit as an optional alternative.

Before you accept store credit, we will communicate the applicable amount and any material conditions.

Store credit is voluntary unless it is otherwise the appropriate remedy agreed between you and us.

We will not require you to accept store credit instead of a monetary refund where you are legally entitled to a refund under Australian Consumer Law.

15. REFUNDS TO EXPIRED OR REPLACED CARDS

Where possible, refunds are returned through the same payment method used for the original transaction.

If the card originally used has:

  • expired;

  • been replaced; or

  • otherwise changed,

your bank or payment provider will generally determine how the refund is credited to your account.

If you have concerns about receiving a refund to an expired or replaced card, please contact your bank or payment provider.

You may also contact us if further assistance is required.

16. DUPLICATE OR INCORRECT CHARGES

If you believe you have been:

  • charged twice;

  • charged an incorrect amount; or

  • charged for an order you did not place,

please contact us as soon as possible at:

info@scottanddaughters.com

Please include:

  • your full name;

  • your order number, where available;

  • the email address used for the purchase; and

  • a description of the issue.

For your security, please do not send us your complete card number.

We will review the transaction and assist with the next steps.

17. PAYMENT PROVIDER DISPUTES

If you believe there is an issue with a payment or refund, please contact us so that we can investigate the matter.

You may also have independent rights through your bank, card issuer or payment provider.

Nothing in this Payment Policy prevents you from exercising rights available through:

  • your financial institution;

  • your payment provider;

  • Australian Consumer Law; or

  • another applicable law.

18. TAXES AND OTHER CHARGES

Any taxes or other charges that Scott and Daughters is legally required to collect as part of your transaction will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

For Australian customers, applicable pricing and tax information will be presented in accordance with Australian requirements.

For more information about international fulfilment, customs and delivery-related charges, please review our Shipping Policy.

19. PRIVACY AND PAYMENT INFORMATION

Payment-related personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Third-party payment processors may also handle your personal information under their own privacy policies and legal obligations.

Scott and Daughters only receives and uses payment-related information that is reasonably necessary to:

  • process orders;

  • manage refunds;

  • provide customer support;

  • maintain business records;

  • prevent fraud; and

  • comply with applicable law.
